Education

Pheasants/Quail Forever’s concerted effort to actively recruit conservation leaders for the future is part of the organization’s No Child Left Indoors Initiative. As part of this effort, our organization is dedicated to working with members, chapters, and conservation partners to provide opportunities for youth and their families to share our outdoor traditions through the following programs:

Forever Shooting Sports

Expanding on one of the fastest growing sports in the nation through hunter education classes, wingshooting clinics, mentor hunts, chapter adoptions of youth shooting teams and many other shooting events.

Are you a coach of a youth shooting team?  Contact our Illinois Outreach Coordinator to see if there is a chapter in your area to partner with!

Illinois Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Chapters sponsor many of the IDNR’s Wingshooting clinics and Hunter Safety Course.  To find a wingshooting clinic near you click here and for Hunter Safety Course click here.

Educational Habitat Projects

Our educational habitat projects foster the love of outdoors through hands on learning.  At these events, individuals learn about conservation and the importance of pollinators while also taking part in the planting of a pollinator prairie. These flexible habitat projects can be adapted to fit many age levels and different organizations including: schools, FFA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Master Gardeners, Master Naturalist, Audubon Groups, Garden Clubs etc.

Adult Learn to Hunts

Illinois Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever is partnering with the Illinois Natural History Survey to help sponsor adult learn to hunt workshops throughout the state of Illinois.  These workshops are designed to teach individuals with no hunting experience how to successfully scout, shoot, harvest and prepare wild game.  These workshops are critical to help create new hunters in order to generate more license sales and therefore more conservation projects going into the ground.  To learn more about the Illinois Natural History Survey’s program click here.

Women On The Wing Initiative

Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever’s Women on the Wing Initiative will inspire and provide opportunities for women to become engaged, dynamic conservationists. Staff and volunteer chapters provide a variety of outreach programs for both female landowners, shooters and hunters.  For more information regarding Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever’s Women on the Wing Initiative Click Here
